Fix Gas Stove

Is your stove broken? If so, we would love to fix it for you.

ESR Emergency Stove are gas and electric stove repair specialists that can repair domestic ovens and cooktops for residents in the Greater Sydney area. Stoves and ovens make up much of a typical modern Australian kitchen. Everyday use of these ever-dependable kitchen appliances will always lead to wear and tear that is why there is a need for proper maintenance. Replacement of elements, rings, spiders, dripbowls, switches, knobs, thermostats, simmerstats and oven calibration are all part of our services.

Unlike modern kitchen appliances, antique and classic stoves and ovens need replacements for defective parts and components to make these kitchen appliances work like brand new. Without good maintenance, metal parts corrode and valves loosen thereby causing possible gas leaks, toxic fumes. We would love to fix your gas stove today!

Common Problems

Outlined below are some common problems with ovens and stoves.

If while heating an electric range element has one spot which is glowing brighter than the mostly uniform colour of the rest of the element, it is likely a sign of an impending failure. In such a case the element should be replaced to avoid possible critical failure as described above. This type of failure would likely show a short to ground if tested, which could also be a shock hazard. Call us 02 9349 4408 or email stove-repairs@bigpond.com.

The element on my stovetop will only work if I jiggle it. Can you tell me what's wrong?

The tips of the plug-in element make contact with power from the range in a receptacle located beneath the cooktop. Inside these receptacles are contacts that can weaken or wear out over time. When this occurs, the electricity does not make continuous contact with the element and causes intermittent heating. This poor contact also causes heat that melts the receptacle block and damages the element contacts.

The first thing you should do is inspect the tips of the plug-in element, they should be silver in colour. If they are blackened or pitted, that is a sign of the problem. The terminal block that the burner plugs into also needs to be replaced.
